Types of Caviar
The different variety of caviar is based on the type of fish they are sourced from. There are many types of caviar including ones that come from fresh water sturgeon fish as well as salt water sturgeon. Depending on the type of caviar and the way it is prepared caviar can either be relatively affordable or a highly luxury class food. Caviar can cost up to several thousand dollars for a small amount equaling a fraction of a pound. The price of the caviar is based on the rarity and the quality of how it is prepared.
There are a few different types of caviar which are popular; they include beluga, osetra, and sevruga caviar. The names refer to the types of sturgeon fish that the roe is harvested from.
